NASCAR and Golf, a Great Vacation Combination

The NASCAR circuit makes a stop in Fontana, California on September 2nd for the Sharp AQUOS 500 at the California Speedway.

The California Speedway website does a great job describing what race fans can do besides see the race. WOW! There are so many places to stay (though you'd better make some reservations this close to the race date), things to do and places to eat that making those decisions will be the toughest thing.

Before we get to the golf, here are just a few of the nearby things to do:
  • Disneyland
  • Knott's Berry Farm
  • Six Flags Magic Mountain
  • Ultrastar Fontana (movie theatres)
  • Ontario Mills (mall)
  • Victoria Gardens (mall)
  • and GOLF!

Here are some highly-rated golf courses within a few miles of downtown Fontana, California:

That is by no means the entire list of golf courses, not by a long-shot. Just some of the most highly rated according to Golflink.com.

A NASCAR race is, contrary to popular belief, a great event for the entire family. One thing NASCAR has done is keep the sport family-friendly.
